峽谷

峡 = 夹 + 山 : Marie Curie (xi) is gorging (峡) on sandwiches (夹) in the ashram's kitchen (a2). She opens her mouth as wide as a gorge (峡) and puts the sandwiches in her mouth using a big fork (山).

谷 = 人 + 八 + 口 : Mnemonic symbol: popcorn.

Gitta Giraffe (gu) conducts an experiment in the space station's living room (Ø3). She shows Neanderthal Man (人) three things: a mandarin (口), popcorn (谷), and an eight-ball (八), and records how much he likes to eat each of these. Neanderthal Man thinks that the eight-ball is a little crunchy.
