桑坦德

桑 = 叒 + 木 : Socrates (s) plants a mulberry tree (桑) in front of the anglepod (ang1). He incorporated a fertilizer into the ground which he made by boxing a Christmas tree (木) to pieces. Subsequently he hardens the ground around the mulberry tree by boxing it with a boxing glove (叒). He then distributes three boxing gloves (叒) around the stem of the tree to protect it against freezing during the winter.

坦 = 土 + 旦 : Tecumseh (t) is finishing the new floor in the anthill (an3). He prepared a traditional floor made out of earth (土) and is finishing it with a mug (旦). He is hammering the floor smooth and level (坦) using the mug.

德 = 彳 + 十 + 皿 + 一 + 心 : Goethe (歌德) and Don Quixote (d) got into a discussion about ethics (德) and the moral (德) implications of wearing black sneakers (彳) just inside the elevator's kitchen (e2) which escalated pretty quickly. Now they are even not discussing anymore: instead, Don Quixote is ramming a flute (一) into Goethe's heart (心) with a cross (十) which he uses as a hammer. He doesn't want to make a mess though so he collects the blood flowing out of the other end of the flute in a shallow bowl (皿).
